What does ‘sifting henna powder’ mean?
November 11, 2008 – 2:32 pmSifting is the process by which henna powder is carefully passed through a nylon screen, discarding all debris and woad that might be left from the powdered leaves. This process leaves a fine powder that’s easier to mix and won’t make the paste clog your applicator.
When purchasing henna powder, it is best to ask how many times the powder has been sifted. While most producers of henna sift their powder once or twice, the rule-of-thumb is 3 times to get a fine powder that won’t clog your tips at all.
