HENNA MIXING INSTRUCTIONS

Mixing henna is like making mashed potatoes. It is simple but requires effort,
determination, timing and most of all, patience.
Here are a few steps to get the best results out of your henna mix:

1. In a cup or glass, open & put in 2 pieces of Tamarind (brown fruit).
2. Add lemon juice to the Tamarind (from concentrate or fresh gets similar results).
3. Stir & let sit for 30-60 minutes.
4. When lemon juice becomes beige in color, strain it.
5. In a resealable plastic bag, pour 25g of fresh henna powder and 11~12 tablespoons of juice (80-100ml).
6. Mix thoroughly by rubbing with your fingers outside of the plastic bag for 10 minutes.
7. Check periodically if no clumps are present in the paste. Add more juice if needed.
8. Press firmly to dissolve any remaining clumps & try to reach a toothpaste consistency.
9. Roll your mixing bag into a paper towel or napkin & Let sit for 12 hours.
(The warmer the climate, the less time your paste will need to be ready!)
10. Add 6-12 drops of Eucalyptus Oil.
11. And continue mixing.
12. When the paste is ready, a little orange color will show on the paper towel.
13. Cut one corner of the Mixing bag. Or roll it and tape it to use as a cone bag applicator.
14. Remove screen & fill in the applicator bottle(s) with your paste.
15. Tap the bottle down to make sure no air bubbles are left inside it.
16. Replace screen on the bottle and close cap.
17. Put metal/cone tip on top of applicator bottle.
18. You’re ready to Henna!

Tamarind is a good add-on because it adds stickiness & brown coloring to your paste.
It is a natural citrus fruit. You can get great results without it. But most of our artists prefer it.
The intermediate bottles are great tools if you have less or more customers to handle.
Budget yourself with your henna paste!
When the paste is made, you can use it for up to 3 days without refrigeration.
However, we strongly recommend freezing the excess paste for future henna sessions.
To reuse your frozen paste, simply put the bottle into hot water for 5-10 minutes to reactivate it.
For stronger results on re-heated paste, add some more powder and Eucalyptus Oil in your mixed paste, let sit for 2-3 hours. This boosts up the color of your henna tattoos!
